About the site

	1. The history of the creation of the site The cultural “BOMB” – Base of Museums in Bulgaria !! is an information web site, which introduces all museums in Bulgaria. This site is appropriate for people who show interest in the cultural and historical heritage of Bulgaria and all the people who intend to make trips in Bulgaria. BOMB was created in 2003 under the project of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) volunteers – JOCV, who work in museums throughout the country. The initial idea of the project was to give an opportunity to all museums to upload information about their exhibitions and their rich collections, because back then, many of them didn’t have their own internet web sites. Today, however, the number of the museums listed in BOMB!! Have risen considerably. Many Bulgarian and foreign tourists use the sait as a “guide” to all museums in Bulgaria.
	2. Instructions how to use the site • You can find information about the museum that you are interested in, by using the “Map of Bulgaria”, by “Name of Museum” or by “Epoch or section”. If you have already opened the page to a certain museum, but you wish to go back to “Search” page, press the chosen icon on the upper side of the page. • In the part “Access to museum” and “Town Information”, on the page of each museum, you can find useful information how to organize you trip. • If you want to learn the present news about a certain museum and the temporary exhibition, you can find “Guest book” in it. * The information about the site is periodically renewed, but for more actual information you can contact every museum. * BOMB!! Is a peaceful bomb. It will not explode wherever you press it.

	4. History and activities of JOCV The Program “Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers” (JOCV) is part of the “Japan International Cooperation Agency” (JICA), which coordinates the technical cooperation from Japan to other countries. The program JOCV functions in Bulgaria on the grounds of an Agreement between the governments of Japan and Bulgaria, ratified by law. Volunteers have been sent to Bulgaria since 1993. Until now the total number of volunteers who have worked in the spheres of Education, Culture, Social care, Environment, Sports, etc, have exceeded 240 people. From 1995 until now 37 volunteers have worked in Bulgaria in the sphere of museum activities. Aiming the perseverance of the cultural and historical heritage, they have managed issues in the spheres of photography, geodesy, archaeology, cloth painting, computer technologies, art, etc. Their cooperation was successfully implemented in the following cities: Gabrovo, Nova Zagora, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Hisarya, Chiprovtsi, Kyustendil, Radnevo and Galabovo.
