For a few decades the village had been under the rule of various Ottoman dignitaries, and in the middle of XVI century the village became property of the Grand Vizier Rustem Pasha. The economic power of the village and the wide range of trade contacts were an important prerequisite for the formation of the unique architecture and religious works of art during the period XVII-XVIII century. Houses, streets, monasteries and churches have been preserved until nowadays. Some of the most remarkable memorials are the Kostantsalievs' House and the Hadjilievs' House. The seven decorated churches "St. Archangels Gavril and Michail", "St. Dimitar", "St. Atanasii", "St. George", "St. Holy Virgin" and "Birth of Jesus" are some of the monuments which make the village of Arbanasi an outstanding tourist destination.
