History museum-Gabrovo submits two permanent exhibitions “Dechko's house-The House of memories” and “Gabrovo and Gabrovonians”
1.”Dechko's house”- it's related to the trade, education, municipal administration, health services and museum work in the town during period 1835-1998.With authentic furniture, textile, curtains, old-time clothing, vessels, oil lamps, clocks, desk devices belonged to old Gabrovonian families and offices is arrange permanent exhibition which represents lifestyle of Gabrovonian from end of XIX-beginning of  XX c.

The exhibition “Gabrovo and Gabrovonians” is attempt to submit the history of the present settlement from its origin till middle of XX c. It's take place in some chronological and subject relating complexes: “The Beginning”– XV-XVIII c.,”The Revival”- the time of Bulgarian Revival and “The Upsurge”- end of XIX to thirties of XX c.The history of the settlement is retrace with bilingual texts on Bulgarian and English explaining important facts and events,texts-exhibits which are documenting activity of Gabrovonians, photos.

The beginning of museum work in  Gabrovo is initiate on 24 of May 1883. on idea of director of Aprilov high school-Raicho Karolev.The first materials  are personal library of V.E.Aprilov , copy of manuscript “Istoria vo ktatce o bolgarscom narode slovenskom” of  yeroshimonk Spiridon, authentic letters of V.E.Aprilov, Nicolay Palauzov, Neofit Rilski , manuscripts and textbooks of the first newbulgarian school, coins.On 5 of July 1920. is established Historiographical society – Gabrovo. At 9 of December 1923. it opened museum collection in  Aprilov high school with first curator teacher Ekim Andreichin.On 21 of November  1945. happened the official opening of the first exhibition of the Society museum. It`s housed in new building with donations of doctor Petar Conchev gymnasium of the high school.In 1949. the Society museum grew into Town history museum.
