The exhibition of the National Historical Museum presents the cultures which had existed before the emergence of the Bulgarian state on our lands from the end VII century BC (the earliest development of a large scale metallurgical production in the world and unique golden findings - a symbol of power of the Varna chalcolythic necropolis from V century BC, glamorous art works from the end II-I BC; extraordinary silver discs and treasures like symbols of power and ornaments; the world-wide known golden treasure of Panagyurishte; silver ornaments from Borovo, Letnitsa, Rogozem, excavations of precious metals from the funeral complex at Duvanlii and Vratsa, exceptional Hellenistic art of work- golden findings of Kralevo from rich tombs of Thracians from the Roman age and the late Ancient Christian monuments. The development of the Middle age Bulgarian history, culture and customs on Bulgarian lands during the Ottoman rule and the only one in Bulgaria full section of exhibition with materials, connected with the historical events in Bulgaria after the Liberation from Ottoman rule are also presented.
The Museum has a marvellous park with a lapidarium and aviation machines- helicopter MI-24, aircraft - fighter planes MiG-21, MiG-23 and others. The visitors can also have rest in the park, which has marvellous view towards the mountain, while for the children there playgrounds.
