The archaeological Museum was established in 1994. It consists of 4 Halls. The management is mainly oriented towards research, management and control of cultural-historical heritage- real estate and movable property on the territory of the Reserve "Old Nesebar" and Nesebar Municipality.
For the implementation of the main goal, the Management implements the following activities:
• scientific research
Organizes and conducts scientific expeditions on land and under water, organizes and participates in scientific Forums in the country and abroad.
• conservation-restoration activity
Coordination between the different institutions engaged in this activity. The restoration of movable monuments form the museum collections, organization and investment control for restoration and conservation of real-estate monuments.
• exhibition activity
The opening of new exhibitions, organization of displays in the country and abroad, exhibitions of monuments in open-air, etc.
• tour-guide and popularization activity
Lectures and tour-guide discourse, organization and carrying out of cultural events, preparation and distribution of advertisement materials: books, souvenirs, tapes, copies of exhibition objects, etc.
Management of "Old Nesebar" is a joint-member in Bulgarian and international organizations.
