With a decision No. 316/ 27.12.1978 of the Culture Committee (CC) a Common historical museum collection is established. On 18 April 1981 the building of the Culture Complex is officially opened in the town and the Historical Museum building, with the first museum exhibition.
Protocol No. 7/26.12.1983 under the Presidency of the CC included the Historical Museum Pravetz in the museum network of Bulgaria.
The Museum is considered communal according to its way of financing and local according to the tasks it undertakes and territorial range. According to its profile and the character of its collections it is common historical. Its basic functions are the gathering, documentarisation, perseverance, scientific research and popularization of monuments of culture on the territory of Pravetz municipality. It has a permanent exhibition and a hall for temporary exhibitions.
In 1988 the museum exhibition was re-arranged and re-exhibited. It was renovated and renewed in 1996 with the sponsorship of the National State Fund "13 centuries Bulgaria". The exhibition reflects the common historical plan for development of the Pravetz region since ancient times until latest years of XX century.
There is a Fine Arts Section together with the primary sections.
Subsidiary sections function as a scientific archive and a library. |
