Town Information

The town of Radnevo has ancient history. It exist as a settlement from the period of the Thracian tribes. It's situated in the Upper Thracian Lowland near the Power Electric Plants and coal mines in the region.The town has an Archaeological museum famous with its exhibitions and archaeological investigations in the district, as an Art Gallery, possessing works from the Bulgarian Revival Period.

The Art Gallery started functioning in 1982 with a collection of endowed works of regional painters.The plainair in painting, which started in 1983 enriched the collection with new original works. The gallery received the status of a municipal property in 1990, financed by the municipality of Radnevo. It was been reconstructed at two stages and now it possess a hall for permanent exhibitions, a hall for interim exhibitions, a patio for plastic works, two depots and an office. Every month are presented exhibitions from other art galleries of the country, as well as personal exhibitions. Various literary and musical performances take place here. The gallery has a special program for collaboration with the local and regional schools.
